The Queen's Award

The Queen's Award

The Gladiator Programme was invited to a civic reception held in our honour in June 2005 at the Glasgow City Chambers. The occasion was for outstanding achievement.

We won the Queens Award for the Voluntary Sector. We won the award for “delivering physical activity through play and sport in the community of Greater Easterhouse and the Greater Glasgow area”.

The Award was presented by the Queen’s cousin, Lady Arbuthnott. Our board of directors also meet with the Queen (and enjoyed tea and biscuits) in July 2005 at Holyrood Palace at the yearly garden party.

The award proves to people what we have been saying for years: The Gladiators are top dog in delivering children’s services.

Finally, we would like to thank local councillor Cathy McMaster for having the vision to nominate us for the award
