Awards

The Queen's Award

The Gladiator Programme was invited to a civic reception held in our honour in June 2005 at the Glasgow City Chambers. The occasion was for outstanding achievement.

We won the Queens Award for the Voluntary Sector. We won the award for “delivering physical activity through play and sport in the community of Greater Easterhouse and the Greater Glasgow area”.

The Award was presented by the Queen’s cousin, Lady Arbuthnott. Our board of directors also meet with the Queen (and enjoyed tea and biscuits) in July 2005 at Holyrood Palace at the yearly garden party.

The award proves to people what we have been saying for years: The Gladiators are top dog in delivering children’s services.

Finally, we would like to thank local councillor Cathy McMaster for having the vision to nominate us for the award

Glasgow Business Awards

In October 2007 The Gladiator Programme won the prestigious Bank Of Scotland Business Award at a ceremony in the Crowne Plaza hotel Glasgow. After beating off stiff opposition from Soccer Savings, a subsidary of The Dunfermline Building Society with an annual turnover of £23 million. The award was for services to the community, the vetting for this award was meticulous & every aspect of the business was scrutinised. Along with this award we also gained access to the Glasgow Chamber Of Commerce, this entitling our organisation to rub shoulders with the elite entrepeneurs. This success was huge & coupling this award with the Qyeens Award proves that we can deliver in the voluntary sector & in the business sector.

Evening Times Community Champions

In November 1998 we won the Evening Times Team Award for the East end of Glasgow. We are now automatically entered as a winner into the Glasgow Wide award. This ceremony is due to be held in September at the City Chambers. We look forward to this & hope we can continue to deliver outstanding work in the future.
